In the beginning of 2016, AAVI Technologies Ltd. was granted with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates. The certificates AAVI received determine the qualification of quality environment and environmental management systems in companies and organizations. ISO (International Organization for Standardization) is the world’s most distinguished standardization operator creating standardization systems, that are globally valid.
“We were determined to get through the certification process on an intensive schedule,” says AAVI’s HR & Quality Environment Manager Ms. Tanja Salokangas. “To meet the demands we hired a consultant, who ensured that our systems and structure match with the standards of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. At the same time we focused on making our structure and processes into a form that represents us as we are.”
The certification process requires motivation, developmental processes and an awareness over value systems. “A fundamental point in our ISO process was creating valid quality and environment policies as well as setting goals to work with within those areas. Determining and defining our principal and ancillary processes was important as well,” Salokangas continues. “Once we had those issues taken care of, it was time to do an internal audit with our consultant. Auditing ensured that our work met the processes defined by our process managers and that all required documents were available.” Before the actual audition a third party standardization institution did an extra audit to make sure that everything was correct. The official audition was held on May 1 2016 and based on that, AAVI was granted with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2004 certificates.
As ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards are known worldwide, they act as a global evidence for particularly strict quality control and the important position of advancing and improving environmental points in the business of a company. “The quality environment and environmental standards enhance AAVI’s business, as they assure, that the way we do our work is always the same as in the audited process definitions. This way we can minimize the risks of aberrations but also familiarize new workers with their jobs much easier,” tells Salokangas. “Furthermore, noticed aberrations and developmental ideas help us recognize occurring issues. Because of this our processes can be enhanced to make sure, that our products are always eco-friendlier and better than before.”
As AAVI products are cleantech ipso facto, it is natural that environmental points of view are shown in other areas of AAVI’s business as well. “Our production process is environmentally friendly and does not leak any risky emissions to the nature. Once finished, our products are packed in reusable and recyclable packaging so the packages will not go to waste either,” HR & QE Manager Salokangas lists. In addition, the long lifespan of AAVI products diminish environmental strain. Credibility, Nordic cleantech and continuous lifeline are AAVI’s natural values and will for sure be cherished in the future of the company as well.
